The Hardest Week….

Hello PreKPals Families!

This has been the hardest week ever. Thank you so much for all of your care and concern in the untimely, sudden passing of our PreKPals#3 teacher, Mrs. Weldon Wyant. Although this was her first year in RQES PreK, she and I taught first grade together years ago and she’s been a good friend for over 10 years. Please keep her family and especially her baby boy, Wyn, in your thoughts and prayers. It is going to be a tough holiday season for them for sure.

This week we are learning about Gingerbread! We have gingerbread playdoh and lots of learning activities that center around gingerbread. We are going to learn lots about family traditions in the next two weeks. We’d love to learn about your special traditions or holidays. If you’d like to share anything special that your family celebrates, we’d love to learn more about it. In the past, we have learned about Hanukkah, Kwanza, Diwali, Eid and even the Christmas pickle! Let me know if you’d like to share your favorite holiday or tradition with us!

Our holiday party and school wide sing a long will be on December 20. I will send more information later this week, but a room mom will be contacting you soon for so holiday help. The children are loving seeing their stockings fill with goodies and they are practicing patience by trying very hard to not look in the stockings! We will open them on our party day! So fun!

Reminder: Dollywood is also giving PreKPals a free season pass for 2020! You have to register by January 5, 2020. Happy December

Hello PreKPals Families!

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving vacation! It flew by, didn’t it? Before you know it- our Winter break will be here! This month is short and it is going to fly by!

We celebrated Emma at the end of last month for displaying the character award of “Service”. Emma is always a good helper to others. This month we are looking for a PreKPal who always exhibits “Self-Control”. We will celebrate this PreKPal at the end of the month before we get out for our winter break. Who will it be? Ms. Hoffman and I will be trying to determine who has great self control.

Our fieldtrip to CHOM (Children’s Hands On Museum) is December 3. No special lunch will be needed. We will be back in time for our regular lunch at school. We’d love for you to meet us there or you can follow the bus from school. There “may” be some seats on the bus, but I cannot promise, so if you’d like to attend, please make travel arrangements. You will pay at the door for your admission. OSR pays for the children’s admission. We are going to learn about the Gingerbread Man! So much fun. Look for a special dojo message tomorrow listing all of the important details for this fun trip.

TODAY, December 1 is the LAST day to order yearbooks! You will NOT want your child to miss out. Go to www.balfour.com to order. Go ahead and set up an account. You will order yearbooks through this site until your child graduates! (I have had parents ask, and everyone enjoys getting a yearbook. If you have more than one child you certainly can have them share a yearbook, no need to purchase 2 unless you want to do that.) Yearbooks are optional, but they rarely have any extras, so order now or miss out.

Dollywood is also giving PreKPals a free season pass for 2020! You have to register by January 5, 2020.
