I have been teaching PreK, Kindergarten and First Grade at Rock Quarry for 26 years. I was thrilled to be the first PreK teacher at RQES. Before coming back home to Tuscaloosa to teach at Rock Quarry, I taught Kindergarten, First Grade or 5-8 year old Multi-age classes at with the Memphis City Schools at Oak Forest Elementary in Memphis, Tennessee.
I am a CMT (Clinical Master Teacher) and a MAP Mentor (Multiple Abilities Program Mentor) for The University of Alabama. This means that my classroom hosts Student Interns who are learning to be teachers. This is a partnership that is close to my heart because I received my training in education from The University of Alabama. I am very committed to helping train future educators. I also sometimes teach sessions of Social Studies Methods Courses or Teaching Reading to Diverse Learners at The University of Alabama.
I am married to Brad Jenne’ and we have one son, Grayson, who is 22 and a daughter, Annelise, who is a middle school student. Our lives have been doubly blessed by adopting both of our children at birth. We were their parents and forever-family from their very first days of life.
I am delighted to be your child’s PreKindergarten teacher! Teaching children to love learning is my very favorite thing! I believe in preserving their childhood and in letting them be little!
I am blessed to be the First Class PreK coach for this classroom! I look forward to getting to know your children and hope to meet you as well.
