Hello PreKPals and Families-
We had so much fun last week with RockFest! It was an awesome day of learning all things SPACE! Thanks to our Elliot’s Grandpa for opening our day with tales from his time as an astronaut! So cool!
This week is a short week in PreK. All PreK teachers will be in Mobile on Thursday and Friday for a statewide required conference. Remember that all other grade levels will be in school. Only PreKPals get to stay home.
In Heggerty phonics this week we are reviewing the past 4 weeks. We will work on the letters Ss and Ii and we encourage you to begin working on letter recognition with these letters and practicing the sounds they make as well. In math, we are still working on counting, and are continuing to look at all the ways to make 4 using counters. We are so happy with the progress that everyone is making so far. Keep reading and counting at home! We are finishing up our transportation unit and for the rest of the month we will be learning about All Things Fall! We are getting excited about our fieldtrip!
Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Here are the dress up days:
Monday, October 23 – wear hearts
Tuesday, October 24 – wear red
Wednesday, October 25 – dress like your future career
Thursday, October 26 – Team gear (but we will wear Barnyard shirts to the field trip)
Friday, October 27 – wear a hat
